I haven't tried this personally, but one solution may be to import the audio track into iTunes. In iTunes you can then convert the track to AAC (it may even convert to this on import, depending on your import settings). Common testify mp3 download skull. Note, however, that mp3 files in iTunes normally import OK to iMovie, so you may not need to convert to AAC.
